I’ve never really been the “Ooh, freckles” sort. But, as in everything, this man appears to be my exception. Why have I never before noticed them this clearly? (It can’t possibly be because I just hadn’t seen enough photos of him to this point in my life. Or spent enough time studying the details of the photos I have seen.) (I keep staring at that one little patch under his left eye, right along and above his cheek bone.)
Probably because he’s usually in make up for photo shoots and on set. I think it was Vouge that really went over board, even airbrushing out the moles.

Portrait Benedict Cumberbatch
gent Film Festival 2011

Yesterday I had to take some red carpet pictures at the film festival in Ghent. I finished my images at the location. Suddenly I saw that actor Benedict Cumberbatch who I had previously seen on the red carpet, took a while coming into view, accompanied by the director of his latest film ’ Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy ‘. They were coming to unwind with a beer. After some hesitation, because I am yet to get admitted, I asked him if I could quickly put him in front of my lens for one minute, and I received that minute from him. With more time there would have been more possible of course, but we could not walk too far away.
And Tyrion’s just like “Respect.”
If anyone can appreciate the value of a well delivered backhanded compliment, it’s Tyrion.
